Plus Point
Firstly, director Ajay Nag V deserves appreciation for his vision to give a new story in Tollywood. His choice of material for the first volume suggests the possibility of a promising journey ahead if he continues to explore different genres.
Mohan Bhagat once again showcases his talent with an admirable performance, which includes Ravindra Vijay’s effective portrayal as a detective and Surbhi Prabhavati’s realistic portrayal as Mohan Bhagat’s mother Lakshman Meesala entertains with her comic timing . . . .
The emotional scenes between Mohan Bhagath, Dr. Subramanya Rao (Bhushan Kalyan), and Mohan’s mother are interesting. In addition, a couple of initiatives in the first half stimulated critical curiosity, providing room for further exploration.
Minus Point
While the story is passable, it may not resonate with everyone because of the research on the Dejavu phenomenon. Images of the concept could have been done in a more animated way so that viewers would be interested and entertained.
They could have deepened the emotional depth of mother and son in order to create a strong bond. A deeper exploration of the concept of dejavu, and Supreet Satyanarayana in particular, would provide better character development, understanding and sharing
The unnecessary length of the flashbacks makes for some tedious moments in the film. In addition, the absence of interesting moments in the analysis reduces the overall uncertainty.
Technical Analysis
The way Director Ajay Nag tells the story appeals to a particular audience. However, the adaptation of Neenu Ninnolage Khaidi (a Kannada novel) could have benefited from a crisper script.
While the dialogues by Sandeep and Anga are decent, the songs and music by Sinjith Yerramilli add a soothing touch and add fun. The cinematography by Devdeep Gandhi Kundu is OK, while the editing by Pritam Gayatri and Aditya T Tiwari can be done brilliantly. Production standards are satisfactory.
Review
Overall, Aarambham fails to deliver a pleasant experience. Though Mohan Bhagath, Ravindra Vijay and Bhushan Kalyan give excellent performances, the film’s lengthy plots and lack of interest in both halves detract from the viewing pleasure and it is advisable to explore other avenues available for entertainment this weekend.
