Story
Deva (played by Prabhasana) lives with his mother in Tinsukia, but he has a secret past. Their peaceful life is disrupted when a gang of villains starts hunting down a woman named Aadhya (Shruthi Haasan), who is new in town.
Deva investigates the group and learns that the plan to see Aadhya was orchestrated by his former friend Varadharaja Mannar (Prithviraj Sukumaran) in Khansar and the conflict between the two escalates, raising serious questions . . . .
Who is Aadhya and why is she important? What is her relationship with the groom? What caused enmity and division among the friends of Devavardharaja?
Sini Salaar will reveal the answers to these mysteries as the story unfolds, explaining the background of the characters and the reasons behind the war between the former friends.
Technical Aspects
Prashant Neel again displays his excellent directorial skills by using even simple scenes to build the heroism of the main character effectively. However, a more focused approach to the story and film in the second half could have strengthened the overall story considerably.
Composer Ravi Basroor also do well his job with his background score helping to highimpact of key scenes. Bhuvan Gowda’s camerawork is commendable, and the stunts by Anbarivu stand out as highlights of the film.
Though Ujwal Kulkarni’s editing in the latter half could have been much stronger, the overall values of the film are still commendable.
Review
Overall, Salaar: Part 1-Ceasefire is a Telugu action drama film. Its main strengths of the film are outstanding acting by Prabhas, especially in stunt sequences, and Prithviraj’s acting. The well designed and executed puzzle sets make the film more entertaining.
However, the film has some flaws: the main storyline is straightforward, the last half drags a bit, and occasionally shows too much violence.
If you are a fan of Prabhas or enjoy high-octane, action-packed films in general, Salaar: Part 1 – Ceasefire is worth watching this weekend for action segments and gameplay interesting varieties.
But if you have little tolerance for violence and prefer a solid, tidy story, the simple plot, long second half and violent action sequences may not appeal to you at all.
So basically, Salaar delivers for absolute spectacle, stunts and lead acting. But before you watch this action-packed first installment, address your expectations for the plot and violent parts.
